She looked at the buzzing fly. It wasn’t a patch on the pumped-up, protein-fed of the first VFX revenge-fantasy film ‘Eega.’ Recollecting the trivia, she remembered how the movie took the Indian cinemas by rage in 2012 or was it 2013? She remembered that the film made in four different languages supposedly raked in 300% profit! Her fly was quite ordinary looking in comparison, but she looked at it with interest. Swallowing hard, she had to ask, despite sounding daft, “Were you the one speaking?”
“Yup.” The friendly fly buzzed. “Didn’t you often wish that you were a fly on his wall?” Guiltier now that her secret was out, she sputtered, “Yes, I did. But….how did you?..I mean how could you?…I mean, how come?
The fly sighed at the folly of humans. They would want to be a fly on a wall, but when the real thing manifests, they refuse to believe in well..wishing! “I was at the party, you know. All that posting of being a party animal swigging from the gay bottle is for your benefit!”
Drawing to her full height, she channelled her pet cat within her and purred, “Does he?”
“Well, he regrets leaving you. But guess what? You are better off without him. That is my considered opinion.” The fly did a few more rounds and buzzed away into the shadow behind the curtains, leaving behind a rather pleased Shilpa.
As Shilpa accepted the congratulatory messages from her boss on the stupendous presentation, she thought to herself: Nothing like a good ole’ gossip to make one feel good, isn’t it?
