Welcome to my Musings over a cup of tea
Thank you for stopping by. This blog is everything from Mundane to the Serious and all things in between. Though fiction is my forte (I am leaning towards bite-sized micro-fiction of late), I do dabble in poetry, though I call myself a reluctant poet. I love to share my thoughts on life, philosophy, the English language, and last but not least, give some unsolicited advice. The last comes rather too easily, having been a teacher and a parent and all that, I want to tell my wards and children, I write!

About Me
I am a Bengaluru-based writer and educationist and like all things beginning with a ‘T’ – talking, teaching, tales and tea. I consider myself a late bloomer ..so late that even to date I can say I am only partially unfurled. My articles are mostly on what I want to tell my adult children but don’t dare! On a serious note, I like learning and I do most of them through observation. I also feel that we all are better equipped to handle other people’s problems than our own so I am able to write about varied happenings around me.
I also volunteer at a local hospital and also at a Seva centre that feeds the poor. I take storytelling sessions for underprivileged and try to help them with academics.

Book Review- Between the Shadow and the Soul- A book of Poetry by Sonal Singh
When something is described as sheer poetry it could denote something exceptionally beautiful or artistic or an experience evoking deep emotions. So, it makes a lot of sense when we describe a work of art or something written in exquisite language as sheer...
The Story of a Window – How our Perception can be Faulty
This story is one of my personal favourites and comes in handy while taking a session on perception. The story of a window... A couple of days after a young couple moves neighbourhood, the woman looks out the window of her dining room as they are having their...
THE MEAN MOTHERS
There are no children alive who do not say, " I hate you," to mothers or "You are the meanest mother of all." I believe that mothers are doing a good job if your child throws those words at you. This piece so resonates with me- for most growing-up children view...
Life is Like Hot Chocolate- A Story
We are living in a very competitive world. Competing and comparing is all a part of the game. This story about the professor and hot chocolate doesn't fail to resonate with my class in almost all my sessions. Personally too, I love this anecdote. Life is Like Hot...
An Obituary to Common Sense- A humorous reminder
A few months ago, I was taking the night train to Chennai. A young lass, a mobile phone wedged to her ear, gestured a man sitting on the side berth to denote that he was sitting in her allotted seat. The train had just left Bangalore Cantt and I was idly watching the...
