I watched Tuner, a delightful crime thriller. I think it is available on Prime though mine was an inflight experience.

Niki White, played by Leo Woodall, has a rare hearing disorder called Hyperacusis. He is hypersensitive to everyday noises and has to wear ear muffs to manage. This rare but life-altering disease forces him to quit playing piano, though he was one of the gifted pianists.

He is an apprentice piano tuner to the irascible Harry Horowitz, played by Dustin Hoffman. Harry is jovial but also ailing.  They travel to rich people’s homes to tune their pianos. He gets along well with Harry and his wife. One evening, when he is dining with Harry and his wife, Marla, he realizes that Harry, who is slowly becoming demented, accidentally puts his hearing aids in the safe. He has changed the combination and does not remember. Niki helps them open up the safe using his exceptional and heightened hearing, which helps him decode the combination based on the slight click.

When Harry is admitted to the hospital with mounting medical bills. Niki’s next tuning job is at an extremely large mansion, where he is unable to properly tune the piano due to the noise of construction. He returns in the evening to finish tuning, only to hear loud noises upstairs. He goes to see about the noise and discovers Uri (Lior Raz) and his two associates, Yoni and Uri’s nephew Benny, attempting to drill into the safe. He assumes they are robbing it, but Uri explains that he runs home security and this is part of his job. Knowing that they won’t stop making noise until the safe is open and wanting to finish his job and go home, Niki opens it for them, impressing Uri, who gives him a large stack of money and his phone number.

To help Maria and Harry,  Niki turns to help the Israeli Immigrants steal from safes using his exceptional auditory skills thanks to his heightened hearing.  Uri explains that though he does run a security company, his clients are so wealthy that they don’t notice if a small amount goes missing from the top, so they steal a few valuable items per client. Niki agrees to start working on jobs for Uri, provided Uri gives him a large cash advance – which he does. Niki takes the cash and uses it to buy the van from Marla, who is surprised he was able to get the money. Maria is worried about Niki and says he should not do anything that could harm him and that she and Harry will be fine. Meanwhile, Niki also gets involved with Ruthie, who is a piano player and wants to impress a well-known composer.
