Here is to Better Morrows

by | Jan 4, 2024 | Poetry | 2 comments

When hard work no longer pays,
But, smart Alecs do.
When cancer rages your body,
And finances add to your worry.
When loved ones suffer,
From age and forgetfulness.
When scams take place,
Stealing all you save.
When children flail,
Till your nerves are frayed.
When greedy and bad thrive,
And the good continue to strive.
When loneliness and aloneness ,
dogs our footsteps .
But, then the four-letter word called ‘Hope’
Often raises a toast to better morrows!
